GENERAL APPEARANCE

The French Terrier is a compact, athletic, & functionally structured sporting terrier developed for performance, versatility, & mental stability. The breed displays a low center of gravity, lean musculature, & balanced proportions supporting agility, endurance, & controlled power.


Dogs must appear alert, composed, and physically capable, free from exaggeration. All structural elements must serve functional purpose.

Height: 12–14 inches at the withers

Weight: 15–30 lbs

Proportion: Slightly longer than tall, forming a tight, efficient frame

Balance: Forequarters & hindquarters equally developed
